Tamarind
General Characteristics of the Wood:
It is very decorative and fruit trees, their height can reach 25m. Its trunk devide into numerous crooked branches forming a dense crown and ornamental, the leaves are compound and sensitive (close to the action of cold), hermaphrodite flowers yellow or slightly reddish (pink or purple stretch marks) who meet in small axillary clusters.
Fruit: the flesh, sweet and sour, is used in making sweets, cakes, ice creams, syrups, beverages, liquors, soft drinks, juices and as a seasoning for rice, meat, fish and other foods. Seeds: the natural serve as fodder for domestic animals, are used as stabilizers processed juices, processed foods and as a gum (glue) for fabric or paper. The oil extracted from them is food and industrial use.
